The Lutheran Laypeople’s League Australia (LLL) is a demonstration of the incredible power of people, united in faith, working together towards a common purpose – to transform money into a force for good. The mission of the LLL is to provide business and financial support to the Lutheran Church of Australia (LCA), such as loans to churches, schools, aged care and retirement living facilities and associated organisations, while providing excellent service to all customers and safeguarding the interest of depositors.
The newly created position of Assistant Company Secretary is a part time role (0.6FTE) and will report to and support the CFO/Company Secretary to manage Board secretariat and broader governance requirements for LLL Australia and related entities. This is a great opportunity to contribute to the governance framework for LLL Australia and work closely with the Board.
Key Responsibilities:
- Liaise with the Executive team and Board members on Board, Board Committee and wider governance matters
- Assist in preparation of Board and Board Committee meeting packs, attend meetings as minute secretary and manage actions
- Support the efficient functioning and running of the AGM
- Assist with development of the Board Education program
- Assist with the maintenance of the Board portal (Diligent) and Board registers
- Assist with the maintenance of the annual Board Work Plan
- Contribute to the design, implementation and governance of the LLL’s Corporate Governance Framework, policies, standards & processes
- Assist with compliance and regulatory lodgements
- Provide advice to CFO/Company Secretary on broader corporate governance best practice and key governance matters
The successful candidate will have relevant tertiary qualifications and a Graduate Diploma of Applied Corporate Governance (GIA), or a commitment to undertake this study along with recent relevant experience in a similar role and possess highly developed communication, planning and organising skills. Previous Public Officer experience will be highly regarded.
